Hi Everyone,

This week we would like to share our Jim Dine inspired art works with you. We 'Googled' Jim Dine to find out more about him and shared a PowerPoint of pictures of some of Jim's Heart themed artworks.

We also watched the short Youtube Video below, which showed how students from another school had borrowed some of Jim Dine's ideas. After the video we talked for a while about how art does not have to be 'perfect' to be appreciated. Some of us get a little bit frustrated when things do not go exactly to plan. We also talked about why we look at the artworks of famous people. We decided that being inspired by an idea does not mean making a perfect copy of the art work; it means taking a technique or idea and making it our own.

You might also like to look at the Youtube Video below, of a Jim Dine, heart themed sculpture called 'Tools and Fire'. Everyone in our class thought it was fantastic . We spent lots of time talking about what Jim might have been thinking about when he was creating it.

This week you will find our fabulous, oil pastel, water and poster paint creations, hanging proudly in our Assistant Principals office
